The trouble with Steve

In the midst of all the rally celebration I regret to bring bad news.  Reposted from Twist-n-Play Scooter Club, but Steve is a Puddle Cutter too.

Steve was admitted to the hospital last week with heart trouble, suffered a small stroke early in the week and late friday night suffered another, a really bad one. He will be in the hospital till further notice under constant monitor. He will have plenty of medical bills with no way to pay them, as HE HAS NO HEALTH INSURANCE. He has been a positive influence on the club as a member and former president. He’s a mainstay within the the scooter community both through his personal life as well as his contribution to the excellent resource that is PTown Scooters. That he’s readily helped nearly every one of us out at one time or another; and that while he likes to have a raucous good time that he’s a man of integrity, kindness and generosity.

Steve is family.

    1. He walked late yesterday, with a rail. ~ 20 feet.
    2. He is being moved today from the hospital to a care facility.

The facility will be in Portland. We will share information on the new location, room and hours once he is settled in and capable of receiving visitors. The line will form immediately behind his cat, Sophie, which is a welcome guest at the facility.
